The Story of Butchertown is a 155-year old home featuring 12' high ceilings, 1 br/1 ba home with additional sleeping areas for other guests. It has a private backyard with a patio, grill and fire pit. Here, guests can enjoy the comforts of home including a large eight seat dining area; all the essential kitchen & cookware items, coffee, tea kettle, and spice cabinet; a dedicated desk with a serene garden view; and comfortable spaces to sleep and lounge.
The space:
Our historic home features all the modern amenities guests could ask for including central heat and air and a newly remodeled bathroom. In addition to the primary bedroom featuring a King-sized bed, there are adequate sleeping areas for extra guests such as a daybed in our sunroom and a Queen-size air mattress that auto-adjusts to maintain desired firmness for ultimate comfort (add the feather down mattress topper for extra comfort!).
Guest access
At home, guests will have access to the entire home and private backyard featuring a propane grill and wood-burning firepit.
Right out the front door, guests can walk to Louisville’s waterfront park, the Lynn Family Stadium, & a 5-10 min drive to Downtown, Kentucky Expo Center, NuLu, the Yum Center, Louisville Slugger Stadium, Urban Bourbon Trail, and more.
It’s also walkable to many restaurants and bars including Sergio’s World of Beers, Pizza Lupo, Chik’n & Mi, Vernon Lanes Bowling Alley, Apocalypse Brew Works, The Mellwood Tavern and many more. The Mellwood Art Center/Antiques & Interiors is around the corner. The Butchertown Greenway is steps away, taking you directly to the Ohio River where you can walk to the Waterfront Botanical Gardens.
