A cruise from the mouth of the Cheboygan River into Lake Huron can take you to Bois Blanc or Mackinac Islands, both a leisurely boat ride away.
The area is also home to trailheads for the North Central State Trail and Cheboygan to Alpena Trail, former railroad lines that have been converted to pedestrian use in the warmer months and snowmobile trails for the winter.
